I really like how the article turned out. It does make for a great "checklist" to have printed off before a trip in our cars! Alot of thought went into this, thanks for putting it all together so we can cover all our bases before hitting the road...

Rocky needs to add "gas tank straps" to HIS list... the gas tank fell out of his '56 Olds ambulance while hauling home!!! YIKES what a surprise :blink: glad ya made it home safe though Rocky!

That's why I take bailing wire AND duct tape. ;) Never know what you are going to need...

Actually, the straps are still in good condition, the bounce from the speed bump was hard enough to make them pop out. And i think the all the crusty above the tank did not help out though.

If your coach has the old style points and condenser ignition, take a spare set and a screwdriver and feeler gauge. It is easy road side fix if ignition fails and your points and condenser could very well be long out of their warranty period. We have had electronic ignitions since the 1970's, so many people do not remember sudden ignition failures and how to fix them. Bill Frisk

Excellent point! (No Pun intended.) I'll add that to the list so folks have it available. I cant believe I missed that. :) Several of my vintage coaches have points still, and its cheap insurance to have with you. Especially since not all parts stores keep them in stock these days.
